Two years is a long time to live with beige...

Finally. The living room has been de-beiged. And, we even completed the fireplace improvement project. The three of us all have some kind of upper respiratory junk and having the scent of freshly painted everything in the house hasn't been the greatest - but - it feels good to just have the project done. Here are a few before and after shots. Back in the day I would've cleaned up all the random stuff clogging up my shot - but not today. I thought about it for two seconds, Jackson was upset and I knew if I didn't just take the darn pictures this post would never exist. It's funny how little things like that are remarkably different for me now.

Anyway, we went with two shades of gray (from the Suburban Modern collection at Sherwin Williams) - enough color to make us both happy, but keep things kind of neutral. The trim is a nice crisp white and now, so too is the fireplace. The room actually feels larger. The next step is to get the shelving back up in the book case (the odd doorway to nowhere next to the fireplace). I am planning on having a little fun with the shelves by lining them with colorful paper. Also, I've ordered the most perfect curtains for our new living room. So tell me, is it time to plant flowers yet? I've got an itch that needs to be scratched.
