The little post that could...
Just a quick update because that is truly all I have time for. Robbie and I remain busy with work, life and baby and we are better for it. Robbie has been busy with some freelance and other projects and today he goes bowling with his co-workers for their Christmas party. In other words: all is well for the Robot. I continue to love my job and all that comes with it - good, bad and sad. A patient I have been so incredibly fond of died December 1st and her death has been very challenging for me. I had the rare opportunity to say goodbye to her a few hours before she died and I will always be grateful for that moment. I'm trying to learn the fine art of compartmentalizing, but unfortunately, it is not the easiest concept for me to grasp.Jackson's first Christmas is quickly approaching and with this first comes so many others. He is tentatively tasting oatmeal and various fruits and his pediatrician told me last week he can even start drinking a little water from a sippy cup. (What?!?! Who?!?!) This kid provides us with so much joy I can't imagine life without him. He weighed in at 21 pounds last Thursday and is moving right along on his growth and development chart. He is obsessed with the kitties in our home and wishes so badly he could move to where they are. He is sitting up pretty well on his own and has mastered the art of grabbing...usually things you don't want him to grab. He is happy, healthy, and forming opinions about various things like Where did Daddy go? and Why are you not holding me? and I want that thing in your hand...now.
So, the Couch to 5K was an epic failure and I blame it on single digit temperatures and snow. I chose a poor time to get started BUT I have been working out on the elliptical at work. I am, at least, doing something. Lately I've wondered how many calories crocheting burns. Double stitch crocheting.
Robbie, Jack and I will be heading to OKC for Christmas festivities and for New Years we will head to Robbie's Aunt and Uncle's lake house on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. I am really looking forward to all the travel and opportunities for Jackson to spend time with our family. I certainly wish all of you a wonderful holiday as well and hopefully our paths will cross!
