Pink: The color of Danger...

I'm not entirely sure I know how to express how elated I am to have three whole days at home with my little family. Last weekend was a bust because Robbie was out of sorts and I feel like our evenings are just entirely too short. Besides that, Jackson has been napping between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. By the time he gets a bath, bottle and book the evening is over. I miss the little guy. The weather has been so nice and this weekend is suppose to be just as pleasant I think we may venture out to the zoo. If anything it will be a fun photo-op.

So, I get to the daycare this afternoon to pick up the boy and as I walk into the infant room I make eye contact with MC, Jackson's primary caregiver. She has a sheepish grin on her face and I'm not entirely sure why. Naturally, my gaze turns to Jack and (a) he's sound asleep in a bouncy seat and I think, "Awww, he's so sweet," and (b) oh look, he has a pink onesie on, "Huh. A pink onesie...I didn't think we owned one of those." It's at this moment MC explains Jackson managed to vomit pee, and poop on the outfit he arrived to school wearing and the two back-up outfits in his diaper bag. The daycare has a washer and dryer and MC was in the process of washing his clothes, but didn't want him spending his afternoon in only a diaper. One of the other teachers, who also happens to be a mother of a 3 month old baby girl, offered up a pink option. MC said, "I figured I would have his clothes clean before you got here to pick him up!"

Apparently, and this was all new to me, periodically a company called Little Angels Photography comes out to the daycare and takes photographs of the kids. They even have props and hats and special blankets to use in the photographs. Yesterday, on my way in to pick up Jack I was approached by Mrs. Little Angels with pictures of Jackson. Slightly obnoxious and overly priced pictures of my baby...on an American flag blanket. The best part of the picture was Jack's big smile - but honestly, they were horrible pictures. Cheesier than Wisconsin. Of course, I declined to pay the $70 or so dollars they were asking for the photos and subsequently received an evil glance from one of the Other Mothers that plainly said, "You bad, bad, mommy...how dare you refuse to purchase photos of your own flesh and blood!"

As Jack, the pink onesie and I headed out the door Mr. Little Angels stopped me and asked if Mrs. Little Angels had shown me the pictures they had taken two weeks ago of my little girl. I told him I didn't have a little girl, but that if I did, I'd probably decline to purchase those photos too.**

**Calm down Mom...I didn't really say that to Mr. Little Angels.

Will Robbie need to go into therapy because of this pink outfit? Too funny! Poor Jack, he will hate this picture one day. I'm glad you didn't get ugly with that photo man. LOL. Love, Mom
