Home again...

We had a whirlwind weekend in OKC and Jackson was a trooper. He was passed around like a hot potato and everyone wanted at least 5 minutes of face time with the little guy. He slept great and had only one meltdown, which also happened to be the day we left town. I am pretty sure he was just worn out and ready to take a long, uninterrupted nap.

Robbie and I managed to get out for a movie, just the two of us and yes, we talked a lot about Jack while we were gone. We saw Harry Potter with a bunch of morons and had nearly the worst theater going experience ever. We didn't have time for dinner and got back to my parents house exhausted. I'm thinking date night will never again be the same. Oh well, it was still nice to be out together without worrying if we had enough diapers with us.

My parents had a get-together of friends and family for us on Saturday and it was perfect in every way. We got to see and catch up with some old friends and Jackson got to finally meet his cousins, Aunt and Uncles, and Great Grandparents. We could not have asked for a better afternoon.

It feels good to be home but the fateful August 3rd Return to Work Day is looming...12 days and counting. I can remember months ago thinking about how far away August seemed and how I would have plenty of time to adjust to the idea of returning to work. Crazy that it's already practically here.

hey! just read your other post! i went to daycare, my mom had to work. obviously, i survived and have become a useful member of society. with that said, i do want to tell you one thing. don't bring your work stresses home with you. my mom was major stressed out at home. it stressed me out. caused a major gap in our relationship. i think being able to focus on jackson when you ARE at home with him is the key.
xoxo,
