3:52 am and all's well...

Well....except I am not asleep.

This week marks the beginning of my third trimester. Does anyone else feel like this pregnancy is just flying by? I can't hardly believe we are in the home-stretch and I am getting more and more nervous and excited about meeting Jackson.

The baby room is painted.....shall I say it again? Painted!!! My goal was to have it finished by the time Mom got into town and we missed that deadline by about a day. In fact, Mom ended up helping us paint at least one good coat in the room. So much for a non-painting visit. Robbie informed her that the next room we paint will probably be painted around the the next time she comes for a visit. Oh, that Robbie, such a kidder.

I ordered the crib last Sunday and happily Mom, Robbie and I were able to pick it up from the store last night. It's still in the box waiting for the final touch-up painting to be finished in Jack's room - but Friday night is the night to put it all together. I can't wait! Mom and I made a trip to Lowe's yesterday to buy the closet system for the baby room closet as well. I am pretty sure that by Sunday we will have ourselves a nearly finished room. The tiny details and decor will materialize more in the coming months. Just like Jackson, this room has been a long time comin'.

In about 5 hours I go in for the glucose screening test where I get to drink the sugary drink and they get to take my blood. A lady in the elevator at work the other day asked me if I was having twins and I certainly hope this isn't a precursor to finding out I have gestational diabetes. Of course, I exclaimed, all indignant-like, that indeed I was only having one and that I also happen to be quite short in stature. Defending oneself and the size of one's belly makes for incredibly awkward elevator conversation, believe me.

Speaking of the size of my belly....I suppose it's time to take another picture in the striped shirt. You know, to celebrate the milestone of my 27th week. The ice cream cone I had last night just doesn't seem like enough fanfare.

Tomorrow - er - I mean, today, will be another busy day running around with Mom. It's nice to have her here planning and helping me prepare for the baby. Also, she's way better at math than I, so figuring out sizes and such for the closet system pieces was so much easier with her here. She didn't even use a calculator! I was thoroughly amazed.

Our agenda much later today includes a spectacularly sweet trip to 3 Women and an Oven. My Mom loves her Southwest Living magazine and this little cake shop was featured in this month's issue. Of course it meant a visit was necessary while she was in town. Included on the agenda are mandatory trips to Penzey's Spices, Pryde's cooking store and a Waldorf salad in the Plaza. Mom couldn't have come at a better time considering it seems these days I am constantly hungry.

I will post pictures soon, I promise. Here's to baked goods, Moms and Husbands...specifically my own. Jackson has absolutely no idea how incredibly blessed he is to have the BOTH of you in his life. Lucky little kid.

I'm a little behind on reading your blog, so forgive me:) I just wanted you to know that someone once asked me if I was having twins when I was pregnant with Noah. She said that she had never seen anyone as big as I was and it not be twins. Had I not been so huge and able to hurle myself through the little banking window where she was standing, she might not be alive today. I think you look fantastic and I'm not just saying that because we're related! I think you look great and honestly, you don't look so pregnant to me. Of course, you look pregnant, but believe me, I have been there and bigger! By the way, the room color is Fabulous! Sarah
