That lame List Post is bugging me...

Not that this one is going to be any better....but it is Saturday morning, the Robot is sound asleep upstairs and I have a gigantic, steaming, hot cup of coffee keeping me company, along with the cats and the promise of a Saturday filled with chores and plans for a falafel dinner. All of this, of course, means I absolutely must post something.

The Dangerous One has been extremely active this week....so much so that Robbie was finally able to feel him from the outside. It was a non-descript evening at home, in front of the tube, post dinner, when Jackson began his aerobic activity. I waited a few minutes before grabbing Robbie's hand and once his hand was on my belly, we muted the t.v. (maybe we thought that would help?) and sat very, very still. After, what seemed like an eternity, Robbie flinched and said, "He just thumped my hand!" The kid is making himself known and believe me, this moment was quite magical for the two parents.

I've been feeling good, bigger, but good. My anxiety is higher than where I would like it to be, but I suppose this is to be expected since, you know, I am preparing to become someone's mother and all. I'd really like to be working more on Jackson's room instead of at the Cancer Center, but unfortunately I can't do one without the other. I have been working a lot lately though and really hope this trend continues. The idea of embarking on an unpaid maternity leave makes me tremendously nervous. Saving as much as possible right now seems more important than what color to paint the walls, but naturally, with my unreasonably high self-expectations and askew priority lists, well, that paint is pretty darn important too. This I know...Jackson will be well taken care of. His mommy and daddy may flounder about like a fish out of water, but that Jackson...he's gonna be just fine.
