21 weeks and 6 days...but who's counting...
Typically, I read everything there is to read about a topic in which I take interest and pregnancy hasn't failed to make the topic list...for obvious, you kind of need to know this stuff, reasons. I have a few books, but my favorite place to glean pregnancy knowledge has to be the internet. Do a quick Google search on pregnancy and you will quickly see why there are so many of us living on this beautiful planet. Everyone's doing it and, apparently, talking about it! I've found myself, lately, only reading the information explaining what the baby looks like, how much he weighs, his approximate length and whether or not he can hear how loud his mommy is when she sings in the car.
Presently our sweet baby boy is weighing in around 1 pound and is about the length of a 12" ruler...unless he takes after me and you can probably go ahead and cut that length in half. He's about the size of a bag of Oreo's (mmm, cookies) or a bag of chips or a banana - depending on who's telling. He very much looks like himself, but without all that adorable baby fat. His tiny little ears can hear the many noises my body makes and he is exploring his world and even sticking his tongue out. Wow...it's a science experiment in my belly! It's come to my attention that a few of you might like to know where we've registered. Baby's "R" Us and Target are the two stores we have officially registered at and Wal-Mart gift cards would be an excellent gift to help us with all of the Oh Crap We Needed One Of Those items that will inevitably come up after Jackson is home. I've read many times not to refrain from asking for the loved or hated gift card. So much about Jackson will be a great big mystery until he is home and demanding extra sensitive diapers, formula or size 9 month onesies. So far friends and family alike have been pitching in to prepare us for baby and I could not be more elated to know you're just as excited as we are.
It's Saturday and really, really cold. Robbie has plans for the day and I really need to work on the baby room. I've adjusted to not having my Mom handy for every whim....but today I so wish she could come over and help me out.
