Swwooooshhhh, swwooooshhhhh...

As Robbie liked to put it, today we had a "meeting with our baby." The second of many doctor appointments and I am apparently already feeling comfortable enough to not have one single question for my doctor. At one point she looked at me and said, "We're awful quiet today!"

What's to ask? I've read everything and feel really good actually. There's no weirdness occurring with my body other than the most obvious there's something growing inside of me weirdness. Honestly, the questions I have she can't answer: Diaper Genie or Diaper Champ? private school or public? Work and pay the mortgage or stay home and maybe pay the mortgage? Chicken or pizza for lunch? You see, these are questions her years of medical school, residency and internships could not have possibly prepared her to answer. Although, I really wish someone could have helped me with the chicken or pizza question today. Robbie's chicken looked sooooo yummy!

Robbie took the picture right before we left the parking lot of the doctor's office. We wanted to document the day we heard our baby's heartbeat for the very first time. For such a mundane appointment, it was miraculous all the same. At 11 weeks I am feeling more and more pregnant each day.

My grandmother called me last night and said, "I'd like to see how you're growing!" I've refrained from doing the "baby bump" picture mostly because I had plenty of padding in that region to begin with. I haven't been too sure what was baby and what was bump...'cause believe me, I have plenty of bump. In the last week or so, however, I am certainly rounding out. I am officially in maternity pants and wow, how good does an elastic waistband feel!!! I was, quite frankly, torturing myself trying to squeeze into my regular jeans. Thanks to my parents, Mrs. Nelson, Aunt Lonni and sister-in-law Kim, I have plenty of items to wear comfortably while I grow. I never thought bigger pants would make me so happy. I will try to post the first picture of my growing girth - for documentation purposes of course - and to make my grandmother happy. It's the least I can do. After all, we know for sure now there's a little Jackson Danger or Clementine Talley growing in there!
