It's a bad time for design ADD...

In the last week or so I've been getting the urge to nest. I've been obsessing over paint colors and have officially decided to wallpaper the entry way (with the Robot's blessing, of course). I'd normally not drift into wallpaper territory and spent a number of hours trying to find a design I could just paint onto the wall. After much energy placed into researching wallpaper I've found the pasty paper is experiencing a renewal in design. Of course, the beautiful and responsibly designed papers are often hand-printed and come with a heft price tag (like, $200 per roll!). As much as I would love to take that plunge, it's fiscally irresponsible.

And then I found this geranium red wallpaper at Anthropologie.

Ahhhhh, love at first sight. With my calculations (and Robbie checking my math) I figure I need only 2 rolls for the entry way. The wallpaper is still a bit pricey, but in the grand scheme of things $88/roll seems like a real bargain. AND Robbie really liked it too.

Speaking of that ding-dong...I dragged, literally, by the hair, kicking and screaming, Robbie to Sherwin Williams to look at other paper samples and we did find a contender...with a prettier price tag. I love the orange, but am not entirely sure the other colors will flow well with the schemes I have going in the kitchen and living room.

If there's anything I am learning about design and decorating it's learning to hold out for what I really want and not settling because of price. I mean, $200/roll wallpaper is a bit ridiculous, but $88? Well, I can hold out for that. The real problem is...how does one hang wallpaper?

I've never hung wallpaper that you have to put adhesive on but, I have hung wallpaper on a ceiling. How hard can a hallway be...Very vivid and you.

All I've ever heard is that taking wallpaper OFF is worse than putting it on. So there you go!
