I just entered my 17th minute...
of holding for an IRS customer service representative who is apparently still helping other customers. I decided to plant myself at the computer and in front of my phone (speaker phone activated) at about the 13th minute. I have little patience for being placed on hold, however, I really need something from them and I figured waiting on the phone to ask for what I need would actually be a quicker process than the three day mailing process.
There are two things here that are really irking me about being on hold:
#1 The SAME song is being played over and over and over and over and over. It's a classical music piece, an extremely popular movement too, like Nutcracker music, only I think this one might have something to do with swans or something. My dad is a gigantic classical music fan and as a kid we would always play, Name That Tune and he would always win. I've never been that annoyed with losing Name That Tune but I've gotta tell you, at this very moment, I would LOVE to be winning. It's seriously going to drive me crazy.
#2 The reason I am holding for the IRS. Short answer: I'm an idiot. With the move and mountains of buying a house paperwork I managed to misplace our 2007 tax returns. Yeah, I know. And of course I am trying - at the last minute - to get student loans and enrolled for the fall semester that begins in 3 weeks. Yep, way to go Cate. This actually frustrates me more than that dad-gum song.
Minute 33 - Hooray a live person! Hello there "Mr. Lee." (quite formal at the IRS aren't we?)
Oh! I knew it had something to do with swans....Swan Freakin' Lake! I just won my first game of Name That Tune! And yes, it was confirmed by my Dad.
