Curtain call...

Some snazzy curtains for my kitchen! With some of my birthday money I purchased this very colorful fabric from Hancock's - my home away from home. I went with a simple café curtain, but to shake things up a little bit, I added a trim at the bottom - vintage material I have been hoarding and using in small quantities for years! I was very happy to use my final yard on something I will see everyday. However, I am a little sad it's all gone.

My next project for the kitchen is going to be paint. I am SO ready to start weeding out all of the beige in this house. The color scheme I was thinking of is a pink/orange combination and I found the prettiest shade of pink to paint the kitchen with. As I worked on the curtains yesterday, however, I realized that a cooler color on the walls would be a better foundation for all of my pink, orange and red accents. I am now thinking of a blue for the kitchen - but that's as far as I've gotten.

There are simply too many projects and not enough time, energy and funds. Good thing we are going to be here awhile!

Great job, so cute! Blue would be pretty too. Hancocks here has been having 1/2 off sales. Way too tempting for me to go in!

Love, Mom
