24 days and counting...
Ummm...can someone please tell me where 2007 went? The school year is nearly half over and Christmas is here, whether we are ready or not! We received our first Christmas card in the mail yesterday which definitely placed a sense of urgency in my mind. (By the way, Aunt Lonni, the picture for this year's card is classic...we love it!) I really thought this would be the year I decorated the house, you know, with a tree and everything, but once again, I just can't completely commit to the idea. I did make a wreath for the front door and I am happy it's hanging there....maybe this will do for now.
What I really want is this gorgeous pink tree from Treetopia.
I am certain this is the Christmas tree for me and no one will ever be able to convince me otherwise (Mr. Knight). The four foot version is only $200....perfectly reasonable if you ask me. Seriously, I love this idea of colorful trees....love it.
Robbie and I have had an incredibly busy week and weekend. Many of our KC family members were out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday and so we have all been scrambling to catch up and hang out. Last night we had dinner with our friends Karen and Taylor who are moving to NYC to live the life. Karen leaves today and last night was the night to say our goodbyes. (Thanks again Mrs. Nelson for postponing our date.) We went to the Hyatt Regency Skies restaurant for a late night dessert and drink. It's one of those rotating restaurants high above the city and the view really was amazing....however, Karen and Taylor will have a much better view looking out of their Manhattan window! We wish you guys only the best and look forward to sharing dim sum and conversation with you in Soho.
I talked with my Mom yesterday and I am pleased to announce they have sold their home and the buying/selling transactions they fretted over for months, nearly years, have all worked out in their favor. I am so excited for them and love hearing the giddy excitement in their voices. Dad now has a barn and Mom has her acreage. Now all they need are some chickens and a litter of kittens and their new home will be complete! I know my children will have extremely fond memories of this place. They will be able to run and play and explore and experience what it's like to live outside of the city. Congratulations Mom and Dad for working so hard to make your dream a reality.
Today is a beans and cornbread kind of day and sadly the Nelsons have not had the beans and cornbread experience. The crock pot is doing it's thing and I am planning on spending the day painting. Here's to a quiet Sunday with friends, art and the anticipation of what gifts this week will bring.
