Okay, okay, here I am Mrs. Nelson...

So...let's see, where was I? Oh, yeah, "Poop" apparently. The wonders of my husband's "creative" mind - they never cease to amaze me.
A couple of weeks ago we made an impromptu visit to OKC and got to see Lily Blue. As you can see she is getting so big and still finds Uncle Robbie's lap to be a pretty decent place to nap. She is so sweet and the bickering with in-laws is now concentrated more so on who gets to hold her the most.

Last Monday I started the painting unit with the Kindergartners. Last year painting with 5 year-olds induced great fear within me, but not this year. I was amazed to watch them work. They were so quiet! Yeah, I said it....the Q word. The only "incident" was when one little boy decided to adorn his forehead with a bright blue bindi. I nearly let him wear his ornamental dot home.

The Autumn colors are amazing and fleeting and making a terrific mess of our front and back yards. Oh I love those complimentary colors of orange and blue. The crunchiness under foot and the confidence I have that they aren't bugs, pulling the corduroy pants out the back of the closet and finding out they still fit, the crisp air and innate desire to drink more coffee than is necessary and the countdown to Christmas music....this is Fall.

I've been sewing a lot and am excited for the coming holidays so I can share my lack of incredible sewing skills. I have a great eye for color and design, but not so much for detail work and tend to want to just get the project done. What I have really enjoyed about sewing is that, much like when I paint and scrapbook, I find I think of nothing else except what I am currently involved in. Those are really good times.

Well, other than the daily grind and nearing holiday rush, all is well in Kansas. Congrats Mom and Dad for finally getting that sign in the front yard!

Yea! I was glad to see your life in a blog:) I'm getting excited imagining what type of purse you are making for me! (I know that is presumptuous but that's me)
