30...

I have a million reasons to love my life and now I have one more. Robbie and I were finally able to meet our very first niece, Lily, and the only conclusion we were able to make about her upon the weekend's end was she is absolutely precious. And just look at Robbie's face, I think it says it all. We are in love.

Kim was gracious enough to sit through nearly all (yes, believe it or not, I had more) of my Emma and Max and Noah and Maggie stories and I shared the advice I've learned from my Superhero Mommy Friends. Cousin Amanda and I shared our clock ticking moment together and marveled at the "Talley Toes" Lily shares with her, Daddy and Uncle Robbie. We are counting down the days until we get to see her again. Babies grow so fast (have you seen Max's blog lately?) and I hope the time in between visits isn't too long. I think I have a better understanding how you must of felt after Emma was born Wis.

I hardly know her and yet I want to be available to her. I want to be important to her and I want her to know how much we love her. I know someday I will be able to call her and tell her that myself, but right now, the love she experiences is having her physical needs met. It makes me a little sad to know I can't help with that right now. Okay, it makes me a lot sad.

I can't really even explain how it feels to be an Aunt. For me, this has been a kind of sneak peak. As different as Billy and Robbie are, they are still very much alike...loyal, helpful, so loving. I am not at all surprised at how naturally Billy has adapted to his new role and I know Robbie is anxiously awaiting his opportunity to fill similar shoes.

Lily's arrival feels like a new beginning of many really wonderful moments to come. I have so much hope for you and I feel so grateful to be called your Aunt.
