One paper finished, three more to go...
It's going to be a very busy week and I don't even have class. Why even bother giving us the week off from school if you're going to load it down with homework?! The last week of school is three weeks away and in the meantime I have four papers to write, a final painting to paint, and an Art History test to cram for. Oh, and this little holiday called Thanksgiving (maybe you've heard of it) falls smack dab in the middle of it all.
And I couldn't be happier. I thrive under the pressure and sometimes do my best work when I am cramming for time and breathing room. I wrote a paper today that says exactly what I have been wanting to say all semester. I am a little nervous about the final painting - but only because I want it to be great. The fact of the matter is, I like to paint. I like to do what I have to do.
Tomorrow the 6th, 7th and 8th graders will be going on a field trip, so in essence, I will have about a three hour lesson planning period. Not bad, I think. The little kids will be making turkeys and I can't wait to see how they turn out. No paint this week.
Mom is home and doing great. Dad gave her a whistle so she can get his attention from the bedroom. I remember when I had back surgery Mom and Dad gave me a whistle to use. I suppose a walkie-talkie would work just as well, and would almost be more fun. I think when I have kids I will be sure to buy a set just in case.
Mom said Dad is taking really good care of her and he sounded so happy to have her home. I am looking forward to seeing them this week. A big thank you to Aunt Linda and Uncle Tom for helping Mom and Dad out this week. Mom said Linda knew exactly what to do to help her feel better. I am glad the worst part is over. Let the healing begin.
