The Big 50...
Happy Birthday Mom!Oprah says that 50 is the new 40 and Oprah knows everything, right? : )
Unfortunately for you, 50 is already bringing its fair share of problems. I know you have a few medical issues that will slow you down for a few months - but I imagine that once you've healed you will be ready to take on a million more projects and adventures. (Did some one say Black Mesa? Or, maybe it was the Appalachian Trail. : )
You are a wonderful mother and friend and I wish I could be there to share the day with you. I appreciate all of the motherly things you do like worry and call at the very least once a week when you haven't heard from me. I especially appreciate your creativity and love for art and do-it-yourself projects.
You have always managed to make life comfortable for me, even when it wasn't. You delight in the little things and recognize that a perfectly made bed makes for a perfect start to a good nights sleep. You still count the gifts under the tree, like any good mother would, and despite not having little kids for quite sometime, you still seem to find the wonder and joy that goes hand in hand with Christmas.
You have raised two children and kept alive one husband. : ) You've been all over the world and have had experiences that I am sure you never thought you would have when you were a little girl growing up in Bonne Terre, MO. I am proud of all that you have accomplished and will accomplish. I know you will be a fabulous grandmother - when that time comes.
I hope for you health and continued joy and happiness. You're my Mom and I love you the most for being just that. Have a great day and I will see you soon!
