It's been a busy week...
but next week will be even busier! I had two goals for my summer and I accomplished one of them yesterday. A few blogs ago I posted a couple of pages from my Catie/Robbie scrapbook I started at the beginning of the summer. Well, yesterday I finished it! I am really happy with the work I've done and there really is only one page that I wish I had approached differently, design wise. Anyway, it felt good to finish a big project.
I won't bother mentioning the other goal....let's just say that if I say it outloud it will make me very, very sad. : (
In other news:
Next Thursday, Paula, my mother-in-law, will be coming to KC for a long weekend visit. Then on the following day, Billy and Kim, my brother and sister-in-law, will also be joining in on the KC fun. We will have a house full but I figure I should end my summer with a bang, because...
On Monday my schooling begins once again. I head back to ole UMKC for another year of busy work. I am, however, really excited about taking a painting class. I have heard mixed reviews on the instructor I will have, so that tells me nothing. I do know that during the two years I worked in the Art History slide lab she never said one word to me. And that was even after delivering a chipper, Catie "Good Morning!" Maybe she just isn't a morning person.
The following Monday, the 28th, I will teach for the very first time to my first guinea...I mean, students. Lord help me. My first class will be 4th graders...I think I can handle it. I will end the day with the Kindergartners though. I only hope my strength doesn't give out!
I watched Miss Emms this week quite a bit. She is crawling like crazy, but, she only wants to crawl towards something that will allow her to pull herself up so she can stand. I watched her try this maneuver with the vacuum cleaner last night...needless to say, she did not achieve her overall goal. I've decided that 9 months is a great age. You're still so cute and cuddly, but you can get away with an occasional temper tantrum. You can sleep when you're tired, eat when you're hungry, you're mobile enough to do some new things and your parents have known you long enough to understand when you want to do all of those things. Also, you REALLY think your Mommy hopping around the living room with your stuffed hippo in hand is hysterical. Yep, life is great for Miss Emms. The next thing to come will be a word or two and Robbie is working diligently with her......"Say, Obbie, Say Awwwbbeee."

Glad to hear Emma is getting around well now. I'm sorry I missed out on that. I was so close. Hopefully, I'll hear some first words by the time we get there in Sept. especially "obbie."
