Are we there yet?
The BIST training continues and today every one seemed ready to run out of the building screaming while pulling their hair out. We are tired and ready for this training to come to an end. These feelings don't change the fact that it is great information and we are gaining helpful tools, it's just 5 days of the same information, in the same room, with the same people.....well, some things just need to end, like now.
One of my break-out sessions today was oh, so lame and I contemplated stabbing myself in the eye with my pen just so I would have to leave the room. I didn't. Instead, I sat in my chair praying my stomach would settle down. I have had salad everyday for lunch this week and have been working hard to eat plenty of fruit for snacks. I know, I know......fiber overload. Needless to say, I was quite uncomfortable. TMI.
The comments for my last blog have been very entertaining, however, the gaucho pant reference caused alarm to one of my friends and fellow teacher, Mrs. Nelson. She came to the training this morning, looked at me and said, "I really hope you would tell me if my gaucho pants gave me camel toes and a jiggly butt!!!"
I forgot Mrs. Nelson enjoys the comfort of the gauchos. I assured her the pants fit her well and that I would let her know if they ever became offensive. Ah, the joys of blogging.
One of my breakout sessions today covered the topic of classroom management. I got to rate myself on a scale of 1 to 10 regarding my organization skills, 10 being so organized that medication may be necessary. I gave myself an 8, but admitted that I am a closet 4 meaning that there are certain areas of my life that are very, very messy. (ie, the drawer in my kitchen that holds all of those gigantic spoons, spatulas and other various utensils.)
I have also decided I desperately need a label maker. Apparently there are just some tools a teacher absolutely can not live without. (I was just waiting for an excuse to buy one. : )
Many jokes have been shared this week and many of them have been groaners. I will share only one, b/c I remember it. I am sure you've rolled your eyes at this one, but my mom will love it.
What did one sagging boob say to the other?
"If we don't get some support around here people are going to think we are nuts!"

Speaking of management and order. I saw an HGTV show where this girl put her craft room in a walk in closet. It was quite nice and when she wanted to she could just shut the door on the mess. It looked to be about the size of your guest room closet.
We are leaving when Dad gets home today for Bixby. We will be helping Andrea and Rob move their stuff in their apartment in Bartlesville. My sweet Pete has to stay with the Vet this weekend. Satchmo will watch the house. We'll be back home late Saturday.
Love you, Mom
