Job Update...

I am trying to get all of my blogging in this morning b/c I really do have other things to do. : )

Robbie was suppose to start his new job today - but - last Friday he was offered another interview with a different company and has two other interviews lined up for later this week and next. By Friday evening Robbie was worrying about how he was going to take time off to interview! I think it was then that he knew he had not found the job he needed. So, he made the mother of all calls and turned down the job.

He was still smiling after the call and even when he acknowledged that he was once again jobless. I think we are slowly, but surely realizing that there is only so much we can do right now and he is simply looking for the job that will provide.Your prayers are still needed.

Speaking of prayer.....I have a funny story I have been meaning to share with you:

When Robbie was laid off he called his Granny to let her know. Granny talked with Robbie for a few minutes and before she got off the phone with him she promised she would engage the Mayridge Baptist Church's prayer chain. So, she made some calls and soon many of south OKC's finest were busy saying prayers for (what we thought at the time) Robbie and his jobless situation. Later that evening Granny sent us an email (cause she is one of those emailing Grannys!) that said.....

Did you ever play the game "Gossip" where the first person whispered something in the next one's ear and so on until it reached the last one, and they told what was said? Well, I immediately called our church prayer group and requested prayer that Robbie would find a job. When the prayer request got around, one of the deacons called and ask how "Billy got hurt on the job and would he be O.K.? We really need to be careful what we repeat, don't we?

In case you don't know - Billy is Robbie's twin brother and somehow the story got a little mixed up. My mother got a big kick out of this story and she was certain God chuckled a bit too.

I really did remember your birthday Catherine Josephine, I know it was one you will remember (not just because of the significance of the number but because of the events going on in your lives). I can't wait to see where this adventure takes you and Robbie. We love you both!
Aunt Linda
by the way - Andrea has an appointment next week for bridal portriats at a wonderful old house with a great staircase. I fondly remember a day with you at a similar location. It is a day I will never forget. Wish you could be with us.
